In her article, Dowd argues against the use of such application like RoomBug and website like URoomSurf.com by claiming that, first of all, being able to choose their own roommates would block out the opportunity for students to mature socially. She contends that being put into the same dorm room with people students don’t like or find it difficult to live which can “toughen you[the student] up and broaden you[the students] out for the rest of your[the students’] life”. However, though the statement is true in some parts, the writer has overlooked another crucial point: a dormitory is not the only place people can learn how to live with others. Students have to communicate with other people apart from their roommates in daily life. For example, students will need to converse and work with other students while preparing for a group presentation, discussing with their teachers after class about

Students have little say over what classes they will take and when they will take them, as most of the classes are pre-arranged. On the other hand, college is voluntary and can be very expensive to attend. Because attendance is optional (and costly), students tend to be more motivated and are there because they have a clear plan for their futures. Generally, college professors will not hold students’ hands and will not offer one-on-one attention, unless asked. College professors expect students to be mature enough to understand the material or ask for help when they do not.

HAving the perception of having to be at home at a certain time and on time, will just get them confused and
This type of personality is basically someone who experiences both traits of extroverts and introverts. They enjoy social interaction and being in groups but also appreciate having time away from big crowds to be by themselves. I think that the middle ground of being an ambivert is something I plan to bring into my personality. Although I relish the solitary confinement of being in my bedroom for hours on end to hone my craft, I do eventually need some time to unwind with family and friends, and remind myself that I am still human. I don’t want people to feel uncomfortable around me just because I don’t spend a lot of time with people, because that can send me down the road of being a social outcast, which is not a healthy way to live life.
