Any journey includes all realities and possibilities. This statement is agreeable because it is true. All journeys have an endless amount of possibilities and realities, for example, The Road Not Taken and Little Miss Sunshine also have all types of possibilities. These journeys explore an endless amount of techniques such as aspects of imagery, motif, irony, empathy and stereotypes. Little Miss Sunshine Directed by both Johnothan Daten and Vallery Fans explore both physical and metaphysical journey. The main protagonist Olive Hoover, Conveys the idea that you have to be beautiful to be successful. This is shown in the opening scene where Olive is watching TV and you can see the reflection of Miss America in her glasses also conveys the image that Olive wishes that she could be as glamorous as Miss America, When in fact she is just the typical average Little 7 year old girl with thick rimmed glasses and a chubby stomach. Olive Hoover Definitely conveys the image of a bright young intelligent girl whose only wish is to become as successful as Miss America. Richard (the Father of Olive) says “there are only two types of people in this world, winners and losers” This irony is against the whole dysfunctional family. The reality of this is that of this is that Olive is simply a loser but the possibility of this is that in the future she can become a winner. by stating that there are only “two kinds of people in this world, winners and losers.” Richard, being a motivational speaker on success should know what it takes to become a successful individual; however, he does not exhibit the qualities that he preaches. In the beginning of the movie, he preaches a nine-step “Refuse to Lose” program that states there are only winners and losers in the world, but everyone can become a winner with the help of the program.
