For the majority of this reading I found myself getting more and more frustrated with his ability to talk in circles over and over until anyone listening would be much inclined to simply do away with him. He certainly didn’t make anything easy on himself or let anyone be easy on him. It’s almost as if he wanted to make it difficult for people to be on his side. I agree with Socrates because when it all boils down to the facts he was innocent. He made very intelligent arguments contradicting his accusers and stuck to his principles all the way to his sentencing of death.
His insults of Tiresias’ and his blindness, accusation of both Creon and Tiresias plotting against him, and the vicious handling of the old shepherd to extort information from him show his complete frustration in his determination to find the truth. However Oedipus’ impious actions are not contributory to demise, as his fate is established well before the
The quixotic nature of the fans hatred is unbearable to say the least, impractical as can be. By becoming extremely religious and exemplifying great leadership qualities, Ray has tried to ameliorate his public image. Ray is also a gregarious man, enjoying the company of many others. However, the fastidious fans that hate on Ray are never going to let him live down the murder
As these show, Odysseus lacks of many heroic attributes even after his burdensome journey. However, it is an inevitable fact that he does become wiser with a knowledge and experience. For instance, Odysseus, who is still the most powerful man in Ithaca, disguises himself as a beggar, the most debased position in the social hierarch, and receives manifold humiliating affronts. This example portrays how Odysseus has become extremely modest and thoughtful juxtaposed with him proudly yelling out his name to Polyphemus. However, even after the slaughter of the suitors, Odysseus might have caused another conflicts if Athene, the god of the war who loves Odysseus the most, didn't stop it.
It was a reflex, a “survival of the fittest” reaction that Gene did out of anger, fear, and confusion. He is already the “odd one out” and Finny seems to be his only real friend. This secret would destroy Gene’s rekindled friendship with Finny that has reached a happy, placid level. Gene recalls, “I shoved my foot against the rung of his chair and kicked,” (145). He loses himself in his emotions, but he struggles to control himself while “evolving the right way” (125) in order to survive.
An Inspector Calls Character Studies Inspector Goole: It’s a false inspector therefore we don’t know his true name, not much to say. Goole has a physic that imposes respect and authority, however he doesn’t cause fear, and it’s always in calm and never looses his patience. His importance on the play is really important he is the person who discovers all the skeletons which the Birling’s had and also make they think about how false and arrogant they are. A Chilling Transformation Chillingworth, the name alone evokes ideas of coldness, darkness, wickedness, loneliness, and this idea is no different from the man who carries this name, Roger Chillingworth, a man incapable of human love. Yet he had not always been this evil or wicked, and in fact he seemed to be quite the opposite. The reader learns that Chillingworth was an intelligent physician, a man dedicated to helping others, who would spend hours alone studying diligently, and one cannot feel sorry for him when he arrives at the colony to see his wife upon the scaffold. But what could drive a man to become the cold, distant, shell of his former self? It seems to be the age old story of love and heartbreak.

To prove the Oracle wrong Socrates went searching for a wiser man than he in Athens. During his trail he mentioned of his search and how he made enemies of men take he interviewed and told them they were knowledgeable but not wise. I learned what made the other men unwise is that they consider themselves wise and full of knowledge, one person should alway strive to be wise but never attaining it, because it is impossible to know everything and have absolute
He was very unpopular, clinging close to Phineas, who was Gene’s only source of social interaction. When he was not with Phineas he would feel as if,” I would have lost face with Phineas, and that would have been unthinkable.”(Knowles Pg. 34) Gene did everything he could to stay in favor with Phineas, even by taking part in’ The Suicide Society’ (Knowles. 56-57), when he longed to be studying for examinations. Striving to be the best academically and to be so much like an adult, pressured Gene into thinking he had to be, ”serious sometime, about something.
