When it was nighttime, the audience could see that it was dark outside and when it was daytime, the window was lit accordingly. Wintersteen successfully used the window to indirectly give the audience a perception of time. Also, it was important that only the living room was displayed on stage to create an illusion of a much larger apartment unit than what is visible. With only one set and six major characters, entrances and exits had to be placed effectively. Throughout the performance, characters were abruptly entering and exiting the stage through the doors of the apartment.
They just simply read their lines in the wings of the stage. As the room was empty, it had nothing to distract the attention of the audience from the actor’s voices to the props on stage. The empty room could also symbolize that there is not enough evidence to charge anyone of being or acting like a witch. Furthermore, by just hearing the voices make the audience think they are overhearing a conversation. This removes the attention from the setting to the voices of the actors.
As I wait for the last class to exit studio 154, I lightly smile to myself, remembering that this beautiful room is mine for the next 4 hours. As I walk inside, my heart skips a beat while I am hearing the wooden floor creak beneath my dance shoes. My bag and radio makes a distinct thump as I place them down by the mirror and begin to prepare myself for another journey to this place. My place. The place where no one can go but me; then I start to sashay around the room.
When they shoved him into the room it was bright and empty with nothing but Edward. This effect of low lighting outside and bottom angle lighting from the flashlight makes the robbers seem dangerous and unsafe. Once Edward was inside the room, it was very bright. This high key lighting helps portray Edward as innocent. In this scene, you see Edward dressed in black with nothing to hide in such a well lit
I wish I could sing or dance like most of them. Now, I want to be one of them. It always seems to happen that way. Something you don’t give a chance always seems to prove those who didn’t even chance it wrong, Hair brought the love for theatre to life. Students of your same age, makes the messages that much more powerful.
This compliments perfectly the boy's imagination that he is "carrying his chalice safely through a throng of foes." when the boy enters the bazaar, he recognizes "a silence like that which pervades a church after a church service." This image makes the bazaar feel gloomy, like the boy doesn't really want to be there. He is undeterred and catches an empty train to reality. He finds Araby much like North Richmond Street, empty and dark with few people.
Clarisse grows on Montag and he enjoys seeing her, but once he gets used to seeing her, she is nowhere to be seen. Some time later, Montag and the fire crew encounter a house owned by an old woman overwhelmed with illegal books. They check the attic and piles of books erupt from it. Montag keeps a falling book before any of the other firemen notice. The old woman doesn’t want to exit the house and her books so she lights a match and sets
It is large with a newly acquired echo, like a theatre; be it one devoid of cast, set and script. Floors are floors and walls are walls, distinguished plainly by the battered skirtings. Her footsteps feel empty and queer; noise seems to play differently. Entering the sitting room, geometric shafts of late afternoon sun arrive on the floor, curious as to the whereabouts of the furniture on which they had previously rested. An expected smell of oak is overpowered by a lingering odour of perspiration, and that of boxes, tape and newspaper.
The main character wore a nice black dress while her sister wore a plad skirt and shirt looking like a business outfit. The Father was either wearing a nice coat and fest looking nice and sophisticated or he was wearing a dirty looking white tee-shirt when he was having his crazy moments. The student was always wearing just pants and a tee-shirt with his backpack to study the father’s works, but he wore a nice suit at the funeral and party. The lighting was mostly a light blue color to make the stage look darker for night scenes. They also used a projector to place a moon on the back wall of the stage.
For months, we enthusiastically planned out the details to go to Kenny Chesney’s concert, even to what we were going to wear. Kate seemed eager, until two days before the concert, when she told me she couldn’t go anymore. Her excuses were the usual ones “I have a bunch of homework,” “I have chores to do,” and “I’m too tired.” I was heartbroken. Although she tried to gain back my trust by assuring me that she would go some other time, I could never believe her. Her perspective had been different from mine.
