Life without a hobby is like food without the salt. It is a hobby which makes living interesting. It is a pursuit outside one’s regular work. A hobby gives one joy and pleasure; one does not get tired of it. It is a pastime, relaxation and leisure. In this way, while one is learning something, he is also making best use of his time. There are many hobbies like drawing, painting, gardening, stamp collecting, photography, reading, sewing, crafts, embroidery, knitting, cooking, pet care, coin collecting, etc. My favorite hobbies are gardening, coin collecting, photography and traveling. I am a student Most of my time is spent in studies. All the same I have time to devote myself to pursuits in which I am interested the most. These side pursuits, or hobbies refresh me. One such pursuit is gardening. I have a small piece of land in front of my house. I have converted it into a little garden. There are five flower-beds 'and all types of plants. I spend some of my leisure hours in this garden. I water the plants. I weed out wild plants. I plant new ones. My little garden looks splendid in the spring season. The dahlias, the roses, the jasmines and others add to the beauty of other flowers in full bloom' I have a separate piece of land in my garden for vegetables and fruit trees. This hobby keeps me active and fit. During the examination days this little garden is a place where a few number of my friends assemble for study. They sit in the shade of the big plants and shrubs. I, too, have a special quiet corner where I sit for long hours and study. Another hobby in which I am sometimes engaged in is photography. It is a very expensive hobby and therefore it is months sometimes when I do not take my photographs. I have a camera of my own and a little dark room where I develop the photographs.
