“Benefits of Living a Life of Purity and Purpose as a Teenager” In the today’s view, when teenagers hear the word “purity,” this usually means it’s the save your virginity for marriage talk or the don’t kiss a complete stranger message. Yeah teens thinks of Purity as being old fashioned, because we are bombarded with sex in so many different ways on a daily bases and because of this, many people have come to believe it’s just the way things are today. I am often appalled when speaking to young girls because very little is shocking to them and nothing seems to be off limits. This is because now instead of young people being urged to wait for that special person that you could see yourself with for the rest of your life, they are now being told, “ it’s okay to have sex, just wear a condom.” A quote by Pope John Paul II says that, “ Young people are threatened…. By the evil use of advertising techniques that stimulate the natural inclination to avoid hard work by promising the immediate satisfaction of every desire.” The truth is, the word virginity isn’t just a physical thing, it is also an emotional and spiritual thing too. Living a life of purity is harder than anything else, it requires strength and courage that most people today don’t have. To live a life with true purity, you will need to rely on God 100% in his spirit and the body of his image. By being guided by him in every step and action we take, think of him. No matter what, you have to live each and everyday in his glorious strength. Purity is not just about abstaining from sex until your married but it is also a mindset that overcomes every area of your life. Purity can be defined in honor, virtue, or chastity but its desires to only love and never to use that one person.
