Life Is What You Make It

“Your life becomes what you think” by daneja irie. Even to this day and age, there is one thing that has never changed, which is life and all aspects that accompanies it. There is one normal thing each and every human being does at some point of time within their life, which is, to wonder ‘what is the purpose of life’? Life cannot be figured out, but it can be steered, simply because human beings are given free-will by God our creator, in whose “image and likeness” we are created in. According to the Collins Paperback English Dictionary, life is defined as, “the period between birth and death or between birth and the present time”, it is a “mode of existence”. Free-will is, “the ability to make a choice without coercion or pressure”, and it is “the belief that human behavior is an expression of personal choice”. By learning and interpreting the definition of life and of free-will, I can relate them with the frequently used quote that, “your life becomes what you think”. This is because free-will, which is an aspect of life, requires choice and choice requires thinking, therefore, from my understanding; to think is simply to engage in conscious thought, with the use of the mind and to believe or imagine a sensation within the privacy of oneself. Individuals each share a common desire which is to seek contentedness, happiness, and success, but our thinking can always come in the way of reaching these goals. There is no doubt that our lives will go on without struggles, and the way you think can either help you get through them or linger within them with little or no progression. From personal experience, I have had negative thoughts in situations in my short teenage life, and often found myself in fear and sadness most of the time. I felt as if nothing good was going to happen in my life and I began to dwell in depression losing will-power to complete my school
