In total opposition to this belief is determinism, the theory that all behaviour is pre-ordained and we cannot chose our destiny so to speak. This idea can be most clearly seen in psychological approaches such as the biological or the behaviourist. Other approaches such as the cognitive approach present the idea of soft determinism, the suggestion that whilst some behaviour is determined we still have some degree of control and choice over what we do. The most firm believers in free will are humanistic psychologists. The humanistic approach has been praised for its great emphasis on autonomy, the idea that we have control over everything we do.
We Are I… In Ayn Rand’s “I Owe Nothing To My Brothers”, Equality 7-252 has discovered individualism, being independent, a new meaning for the word “I”. Because of this, he doesn’t feel the need to owe anything to anyone. This passage tone is very declarative and enlightening. Individualism should be something we all practice as a whole. Being independent does not mean that we have to cut everybody out of our lives to accomplish what we desire.

Response #1 According to ex-nihilo “good is present in all things.” There is nothing that is created that is apart from God. So everything that is created has God’s fingerprints. Rowan Williams says that, “each one of us is already in relationship with God before we’ve ever thought about it. It means that every object or person we encounter is in a relationship with God (Pg. 35).” God designed every organism and every person; and if this organism is living then God is living in it.
I found myself to be very successful in that area until my junior year; when I realized some of those friends could not be trusted. As high school progressed and the drama plied up, I had to remain focused. This may have been one of the biggest challenges for me. Additionally time became an issue when I began playing sports. Attempting to complete the heavy workload assigned by my teachers all the while trying to uphold my social life, it was evident as my lack of attention began to show in grades.

In Chapter I of Self Reliance, Emerson talks about the idea that when he is standing on flat carefree ground he is uplifted into blithe, carefree air, and no longer has any limits on himself. In this carefree state Emerson “feel[s] that nothing can befall [himself] in life, -- no disgrace, no calamity, (leaving me my eyes,) which nature cannot repair. Standing on the bare ground, -- my head bathed by the blithe air, and uplifted into infinite space, -- all mean egotism vanishes.
