TDA 3.2 Schools and Organisations Criteria 1.1 Summarise entitlement and provision for early years education. There are different types of childcare options available for 0-5 year olds, these include:Sure Start - Giving every child the best possible start in life is an initiative called Sure Start which is government led. They offer a broad range of services focusing on Family Health, Early Years Care and Education and Improved Well Being Programmes to children aged 4 and under. Sure Start makes contact with parents as soon as possible in the child's life and can offer support to families who have developmental concerns or other worries about their child. They can also give them support in making referrals for other services.
Voluntary settings support children by giving them the opportunities to play and interact with other children. It also benefits parents by giving them the opportunity to get back into work or a break to keep on top of house work they may not be able to do with children around them. Here are some of the policies and frameworks on the early years sector and how they have influenced it. Equality act- the equality act has had an influence on the early years sector As it means that employers must allow staff and children to come into their setting to work, or play no matter of their race, cultural background or even sex preference. the Uncrc has had an influence on the early years sector. The four core principles of this are non-discrimination, best interests of the child, right to life, survival and development and to respect the views of a child. This act protects children up to the age of 18 and stresses that no child should be treated unfairly.
1.2. Describe the characteristics of the different types of schools in relation to educational stage(s) and school governance. Nursery Schools are funded by the state or independently depending on the type of nursery and at what age the child will attend. All children aged between three and four years old are entitled to a free placement at a government funded nursery. Many nurseries are now located on site a primary or community school to help the transition between foundation stages 1 and 2 easier for the children.
E1/E2 There are three different types of settings which provide care and education for children. These are the statutory sector, the voluntary sector and the private sector. The statutory sector comes under government or the local education authority and they are required by law to provide some form of statutory services. They are funded by the state. Education (schools) and childcare (nurseries) is mostly the concern of the local education authority.
Child, family, and school social workers are pretty much in the same category. Those social workers arrange compensation and social services to develop the psychological and social functioning of kids and their families. By doing so the social workers try to expand the families comfort zone and the kid’s progress in school. The social workers try to help parents, mainly single parents. They help with adoption and help children find foster homes if they have trouble with places to stay.

In order to protect and keep children and young people safe from harm and abuse, each Borough in London has its own safeguarding management team which is responsible for promoting good practice and developing links in all areas regarding the safety and well being of children and young people. These are the policies and procedures we need to follow whilst working with children within our school setting; Within childcare practice we must be aware that we have a clear and defined role in relation to child protection. Professionals working with children/young people i.e. teaching assistants, volunteers, outside agencies are CRB checked (criminal records bureau).
It is important effective communication with adult to be able to build a relationship of trust and understanding. Parents and adult are likely to give beneficial of supporting if the communications is strong and effective and this can be beneficial for the children. Build and establish relationships ,prevent problem,misunderstand ,stay motivate,establish mutual respect are some example. Aim children to learn,have fun ,play and engage. Community schools also help the community by offering the use of their facilities and providing services like childcare and parent learning programmes. Voluntary controlled schools- can be known as a religious or faith school the land and buildings are owned by charity but the local education authority is responsible for running the school. Voluntary aid schools- are partly funded by the local education authority and the governing body is responsible for running it, services are provided by the local education authority if needed and all pupils must follow the schools national curriculum. E1: The statuary sectors are services that have to be available by law through legislation which requires either the government or local authorities to provide them.
