In this essay I will be talking about how children are affected by television. Although many parents these days do not want their children to watch television, there are a lot of educational shows available today. Many parents may not want their children to watch modern television, and I would have to tell those parents that there are some shows out there these days that are very educational and they are aimed towards the young. Watching the educational cartoons can be very helpful for a child’s mind. There can be positive results emotionally, physically, and psychologically.
If technology continues to develop at this rate, people will slowly begin to depend on it just as much as Mildred did. People nowadays forget about the conventional things in life and allow themselves to be consumed by a world of technology. People have now begun to rely on technology such as portable devices for entertainment. This increase in use of technology will cause more people to stop reading for fun and begin experimenting with these new gadgets. Even though these devices come with many ways to read, most people do not use this to their advantage.
The media not only distracts society from reality, but also provides temporary pleasure; for example, television instantly fulfills the wish for relaxation. If people have the self-control to sample television in small doses, it can be relaxing without being harmful. However, when television is integrated into the daily routine and becomes "necessary," people rely on it for artificial happiness. Depending on entertainment for pleasure is detrimental to health and mind. For some people, entertainment yields greater joys than physical activity does.
Parents would be glad to see their children working hard instead of giving up from being behind because of summer vacation. The future generations will lead us to a better life. Kids might forget things over the long summer breaks. They would learn more if they didn't have to relearn information they forgot over summer break. Year round schooling would benefit students by allowing them to learn things a few months earlier, then passing to the next
As technology advances, it seems students are becoming lazy, and losing interest in the opportunity for an education. Too many kids just want to stay home and watch TV, play video games and go on the internet. It’s time our society takes a new approach in using technology as a significant part of a student’s education. We are in the twenty-first century now, so maybe we should act like it. On the other hand, some argue that incentives dramatically change the way students perceive their education.

Technology will also restrict children from playing, this could be because of game consoles or television programmes. This is because children are more interested in playing on the latest games and watching their favourite television programmes this will cause obesity in children because they will not be getting the required amount of exercise
Children who are older may be able to understand the difference between fantasy and reality a little better, therefore older children should be able to play games at a parents discretion. Some experts say,” kids are attracted to video games not so much by the violence, but because the games present puzzles or problems to solve (Sherry 1). The media and many other angry parents like to find a source to blame such as video games. Although video games are very entertaining and becoming more of a virtual reality the truth
Since the advent of cable television, there have been more and more fascinating programs sticking viewers, especially children, into the screen. This, therefore, creates certain complaints that it is wasteful your time watching TV. However, with all the benefits it provides, television is really worth watching. Thus, viewers can get more details of the news and enjoy it much more than reading lots of words in newspaper or listen to voices on radio only.
