The UAV used at the AWE was the Hunter, which was not expected to become part of the Army's inventory. The Hunter required too much manpower and a large operating field. The Outrider, a tactical UAV then in development, was expected to be more proficient and require less support resources. However, the Hunter helped prove the value of UAVs to ground combat units. The Javelin was a winner to the point that light infantrymen were being flown around in helicopters in Javelin packages to attack tanks.
Thinking in positive ways not only makes me feel better about situations, but I know it also helps other people dealing with the situation too. So if people ever need help with something I might be the person they will like to come too. All in all I am glad I took the survey and got this little outlook on my strengths. I do believe they fit me and I will use them to better prepare for my
Accountability of Military Weapons and Gear It is very important at all times for a soldier to know where their weapon ,headset or any equipment are. Especially when at war. A soldier without his/her equipment is handicapped, he she can not defend him or herself from enemy fire without having their weapon ready ,nor communicate with people in their convoy without their headset. Having your weapon and headset secure is also a matter of safety. Going out on any mission in the military without necessary equipment is dangerous.
“Taking the Blackhawk Out for Lunch” The moral dilemma in this case study is that the soldiers created the “appearance of impropriety.” The big issue is that to civilians and probably other service members, the situation looked like an abuse of time, equipment, power, and taxpayer’s contributions. When planning a mission, even a training mission, it is your responsibility and duty to follow your commander’s intent and be a trusted professional at all times. By using a precious resource designated for work, those soldiers damaged the trust of civilians and other soldiers that they placed in them to train diligently and be prepared for whatever their country calls on them for. This case study is a clear breakdown of virtues ethics and deontological. If the soldiers
Therefore it is sensible to say that through careful observation our sense experience provides us with information that is reliable to use when carrying on the daily activities in our lives. Reid (2008) believes we can trust our senses for accurate and truthful knowledge based on three main points. He points out that empirical information gained through the sense experience is necessary to function properly in the real world. For example, when we look at things in the world we see objects and their qualities such as color, shape, and hardness. The existence of an object’s qualities cannot exist without the object existing, therefore we know what is presented immediately through our perception is real.
Sarah Yost Mr. Massey Period 3-4 10/4/12 Robot Domination Humans rely too much on robotic machines. Robots should not be able to communicate or act like humans on their own. Brian Aldiss, the author who wrote the short story “Who Can Replace a Man” demonstrates how without humans the robots would take over our world. Brian shows how a group of bots try to overcome a problem of no orders by going on a long and treacherous journey in order to fix or build a new orderly system. “’We will speak to each other.
Some experts are convinced that robotic technology is too expensive and government should not consider idea of usage this technology in military. It is true that currently costs of modern robots is overpriced. At the same time, it is also the fact that the robotic technology is becoming more available and less expensive and this tendency gains immediate attraction of many organizations and departments. Furthermore, some countries adopt technological equipment for troopers, which cost no less than single modern robot. According to U.S. Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA), which appraised the expenses of Department of Defense, the average expenditure for each U.S. soldier serving in Afghanistan was approximately $1.3 million per year between 2008 and 2013 and it has suddenly increased to $2.1 million in 2014.
In my opinion, cell phones should not be prohibited while driving: to some extent, we need to use cell phones while driving. One of the most desirable features of using a cell phone is the ability to keep in constant contact with friends and family members while everyone is at a different location. However, most people said that it is dangerous to use cell phones while driving. In order to prevent accidents from happening we can use Bluetooth headsets. The usage of Bluetooth headsets can be less distracting; having it on the ear at all times and setting the Auto Answer option on the cell phone can result effectively.
Yancy Chaunce World War R: Using Autonomous Robots In War The robot industry is advancing with every day that passes. Robots are utilized to perform certain tasks and ultimately are used to make lives easier and to do accomplish things more quickly without the help of a human. A robot can have a home in many places throughout the world, such as in factories, business corporations, labs, and even in schools as teaching tools. Since robots can be implemented to do virtually anything a person can design it to do, it would make sense that robotic technology would be adopted for military uses. Robots have been seen in war for a variety of uses.
While driving along the highway I noticed a billboard protesting animals be used in experimentation. If medical and scientifical experimentation were to be done in only human trials the knowledge and understanding of how drugs and procedures can affect humans would be decades behind. That is why the use of animals in experimentation is a must in order to continue advancing medicine and science. Animals have a high reproductive rate and are easy to breed. Animals have the same organs and tissues as humans do making them very good analogues.
