Health care is hard for people to get the proper coverage due to high prices, pre-existing conditions, or debt problems. Insurance companies often have loop holes people do not see, causing problems when a medical condition occurs. Children are not receiving the proper medical care due to their families not having the proper coverage. Many Americans are continuing to get sicknesses and go untreated, causing more Americans to suffer or die quickly. Nationalizing health care
This is partially because women have started to go back to work and the economy in the present day is not very stable so supporting a bigger family is not easily done. Today, 51 percent of all marriages end in divorce and only 38 percent consider themselves happy while being married (Lebey, 2005, 1). However, there are a lot of efforts that show families are more resilient and more “loving today than it was in the past.” (Benokraitis, n.d., 17). The first piece of information that specified that families are stronger
Elderly drivers should have restrictions. If harsher driving restrictions were put on the elderly drivers, it would avoid accidents and injuries or even... death. Based on the fact that elderly drivers are dangerous, research has shown that everyone ages differently and growing old does not mean that a person becomes a safety hazard. It depends on the person’s physical and mental health. Our functions start declining such as visual impairment, cognitive changes, and reduction in strength and flexibility when we start growing old.
It might because of their age or gender, age because if you are working in a hospital and you are the youngest among the group the elderly will dominate which make you feel disempowerment. Gender could also lead to disempowerment because of the fact that men are stronger than women and create the idea that women always put in second place. Women will lose their rights of equality; if they are already less powerful than men then making them feel they are that low is a kind of discrimination. Low self-esteem and self-identity is a result from constant discrimination of others. This is also like an act of bullying which you makes ones self-esteem low.
One, for instance is that the researchers did end up having to spend unplanned money due towards the fact that it was hard to gather participants in the study resulting in them having to test women and men under the age limit for the study. Also, another consequence was that once the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) found out that they had withheld the treatment for syphilis, the families were compensated for any death of loved ones due to the experiment or any medical treatment
Patients who were admitted came to the hospitals much sicker, and you had more folks to care for at the same time, with less help. This was not fair to you or those in your care. Conclusion Managed care was born out of a good idea, basically to help curb the rising cost of health care. In essence it should have been the answer. But because of the greediness of some just as in other models what started out as good ended up not being able to provide the quality care at an affordable price like was promised.
Ways to increase compliance in the elderly. Increasing compliance in the elderly deems a decrease in the amount of hospitalizations and emergent care for these patients. Most elderly patients are diagnosed with multiple medical conditions which require multiple medications (Brandt, Hanna, & Walters, 2013). All these medications cost money as well as a tremendous responsibility to the patient. Money can become a big issue with compliance, but money is not the only reason why elderly are non-compliant with their medications.
Too many Americans are forced into bankruptcy due to high out-of-pocket medical care expenses” (Miller 3). It just doesn’t feel right to these citizens that basic healthcare is outside of their reach just because they have lost their job or chose a career path that was not as profitable as some others may have chosen. After all, every job must be done and not everyone can be among the elite. However, that should not mean that the people who do the lower class jobs should suffer medically. This is the argument that is the backbone of those who press for a universal healthcare
Also around half of these people have disabilities that prevent them from working. It surprises me to find out almost 100% of welfare recipients are women versus the rest of the poverty society including some old aged veterans who aren’t receiving support. A person who sacrificed their life for their country should be getting aid by all circumstances. Another disappointing statistic I found interesting was that if you “qualify” for benefits, the low average pay per month was $350 from the government. Few recipients manage to obtain a bigger amount to support their families which I believe is totally unfair and immoral.
Meeting the Needs of the Aging Population The aging population of the people born between 1946 and1964 are what we call the Baby Boomers population. Within the next twenty years this population is expected to increase 79% in the number of people over the age of 65. (Shultz, 2010) Many people of this population are seniors who live by themselves and require a little help with their every day needs. These needs include help with a little house cleaning, grocery shopping, or just the need of remaining healthy. There are many who just cannot really get around like they would like.
