The Last Meow Burkhard Bilger is clearly affair of loving their pets because it has gotten out of control. Bilgers feelings for the animals aren’t easily transferred because they also treatment of the pets they don’t own. It’s hard not to have feelings for an animals because they are part of your live and they will always be in your heart even do u don’t want to. In “The Last Meow,” Burkhard Bilger implicitly explains that Americans are spending too much money on their pets nowadays. In the story about Lady the cat and her owners, Karen and Shawn Levering, Bilger states that even though the couple is practically in debt, they are still thinking about their cat before themselves. Despite of making only around $27,000 per year, they are still willing to spend over $15,000 to perform Lady’s surgery. Moreover, Shawn further says that “if Lady comes through this thing alive, [he] won’t think about it twice” (25). He even gives up his dream of fixing his car just to save his cat. This is typically true for many American families with pets: they are willing to give up just about anything for their beloved pets. Some people preferred to spend more money on a cat. Like for example someone could spend over $15,000 on a cat and they are happy in spending four times more on a car. If your pet is sick or it needs a surgery they will preferred to spend the money on the pet instead of saving the money for something else if they need it. Know a lot of people in Americans spend $19 billion a year on a veterinary. I don’t know why people like to spend a lot of money on the veterinary just to take the pets get check every month and also the they could get there hair, nails done for the dogs. If you add the cost of pet food and other supplies and the number rises up to $47 billion, nearly three times as much as
