By using different literary methods authors are able to give their readers a better understanding of the message behind the piece of work. Using methods such as themes and symbolism allows readers to find the underlying meaning of the story rather than just simply reading something with no meaning or emotion behind it. While reading Robert Frost’s Poem The Road Not Taken and Eudora Welty’s short story A Worn Path, people get a sense that life is a lonely place full of sacrifice at times. Although these two pieces are different, their use of symbolism gives readers a better understanding of the characters in each work and figure out their real struggles with the choices they make. Literature is meant to take its readers to another place and allow them to become part of it, whether it be a story or a poem or play.

For example: thinking about the development of your learning, thinking about your own behaviour, what could have been improved, coming up with an alternative from the evaluation, asking yourself this happened because, it would have been better if and next I will. Doing all of these actions cn help us learn from our mistakes and do better next time. 1:2 The importance of reflective practice is learning from previous experiences and improving from them.

When the purpose is known, then there is a reason for the object, concept, or situation to exist. Without meaning or purpose, no direction can be found, and can leave the audience with a sense of emptiness. Symbols are an important way to hide meaningful information in plain sight. The reader may personalize the interpretation of the symbols, or it could be dictated by the author.
The VARK learning style assessment is a tool used to assist people in identifying their preferred method or way of learning. The word VARK is an acronym and therefore each letter has a meaning, V for visual learning, A for aural learning, R for read/writing kind of learning and K for kinesthetic type of leaning style which involves the use of senses (touching, tasting, seeing, smelling and hearing). It is however important to understand that this assessment is not exhaustive and does not put a limit on what learning styles one can use. For the purpose of this paper the main focus is going to be on the aural style of learning as this is my preferred style of learning .
