Crystal is the author of many books on language such as “The Gr8 Db8” which discusses text language and its impact on society. The author’s undermined approach is shown through historical context, statistics and pathos to effectively reveal the mass spread of English, and the potential impact it will have on the world. Crystal connects with the audience to make them realize that something as simple as the language we speak, could have more of an impact on the world than ever imaginable.
In order to ensure the respondents accurately represented the SFU student body, we attempted to choose participants who were diverse in gender, faculty, nationality and year of study. This proved to be highly beneficial to the discussion, as it stimulated the exploration of ideas and topics that we had initially overlooked. This exploratory research refined the areas of investigation most beneficial to Renaissance, particularly key factors that affect food and drink choices, as well as to gain ideas and insights into Renaissance’s current brand perception and loyalty. From here, we were able to generate hypotheses about the following categories: a) Coffee Consumption Habits - Students consume the most coffee during exam week and lecture break. b) Factors Influencing Purchase Decisions - Students feel that price is the single most important factor when deciding where to purchase food or beverages.
Just as physical products are open to innovation and change, so are new services. An example of this type of innovation is Frederick Smith who is the American entrepreneur responsible for the multi-million dollar international company, Federal Express. He created a new and better way of moving packages between people. New services, like physical products can also have positive movement due to branding. It is beneficial for entrepreneurs to think more along the lines of all product and service aspects instead of in silos and just thinking about producing “products” alone or “services.” That concept is imperative for entrepreneurs to understand as customer service can be added as an additional component as well to a physical product.
They need to make it more well known that their lower prices are helpful in these economic times. The post office could also have special holiday deals and coupons that you could print online to lure people to the post office. The time for USPS to expand and try new things is now.
