Some individuals rely on lip reading to be able to understand what someone is trying to communicate to them, to that you would face towards them making sure you speak clearly, this way it is easier for this individual to understand you. For this to be effective you must recognise that each person in unique meaning there will be differences in the way each person communicates. There are different influences that affect communication such as cultural differences, language differences. Specific needs such as physical difficulties can influence a person ability to communicate, always be sensitive to the specific needs of the individual so communication is encouraged from the start.
