If you're looking for a film filled on British history, the violent tragedies of war and lots of drama, this isn't the film for you. However, this film is filled with the struggle of the Duke of York, Prince Albert and his speech impediments. Bertie has a stammer, and struggles to speak in front of people or in general. With the latest invention in England, the radio, he has to conquer his stammer and speak to his audience. With the help of Lionel Logue , an Australian speech therapist, who is played by Geoffrey Rush, he teaches Bertie a few pointers and techniques to help him overcome some of his difficulties. This film was set in the 1920s and 1930s. Written by David Seidler and directed by Tom Hooper, this film is highly enjoyable, dramatic and based on a true story. I personally thought that the film was brilliant and I highly recommend it. Although I thought there could have been a better and an unanticipated ending. Colin Firth who acted as King George VI displayed a brilliant portrayal of Bertie. He perfected his stammer and speech impediments wonderfully. His acting skills were top notch as he showed the audience Bertie's rage and temper, his love for his two daughters, Princess Elizabeth and Margaret and wife, and the role of leadership when dictating England during World War 2. He deserves a five out of five based on his amazing performance and acting skills. Helena Bonham Carter acted as Bertie's wife, and future Queen-Mum of England. She showed her love, affection and support towards Bertie. Although I thought her role in the movie was quite vague and she wasn't shown enough in the film, she acted well and portrayed her character well enough to win me over. I loved her slight sense of humour in the movie, her wittiness, and the love and support she had for her husband. Overall, Lionel Logue who was played by Geoffrey Rush was my
