KFC .vs. Popeye’s There are quite a few things Popeye’s and KFC have in common, and there are quite other things they have different. I plan to discuss both of these in this paper. They both are chicken restaurants, but much of the similarity is lost. For example, Popeye’s chicken is less greasy the KFC chicken. Popeye’s seem to be found more in city type areas and KFC is more of a suburbs type area even though there are KFC in city places. A person describes Popeye’s chicken as to be crunchy and extremely moist, KFC chicken has more flavor and spices are more flavorful. The taste of Popeye’s chicken is almost like a home cooked meal that your mother has made for you the flavor that is put into Popeye’s chicken cannot even be compared to KFC chicken. In New York, Popeye’s is like the best place to eat when you’re trying to get something fast but still tasteful. Both chicken restaurants are cheap and they have similar sides like mash potatoes and buttermilk biscuits. They both appeal to the community and the presentations in commercials are similar. Popeye’s is known for its use of Cajun cuisine, which has also been incorporated in flavorful meals cooked and served by Louisiana natives. They serve Cajun fried chicken which can be served in many forms such as plain chicken or sandwich, and in variations of mild or spicy. They offer side dishes such as mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy, coleslaw, red beans and rice and Cajun rice. In addition, they also have Cajun fries, and with every meal come a trans-fat-free biscuit. KFC’s popularity lies in the recipe that their slogan “finger lickin’ good” is based on. The range of their fried chicken products is wider than that of Popeye’s, besides fried chicken and chicken sandwiches, they also have finger foods such as popcorn chicken, the famous Twister, and even grilled chicken.
