Keep the Driving Age Can you remember when you first got your license? The feeling you had and the endless freedom, these were the first steps on becoming an adult. For many, driving as a kid was the chance to show their potential, bravery, and courage as well as creating the necessary building blocks for maturing. The driving age is in danger of changing and should be kept at age sixteen. The general operations of vehicles, including the mechanical aspect, involves knowing how and where everything operates as well as being attentive with the vehicle and its limits. For example, A driver must learn to check gages, tires, oil, etc. Much responsibility comes with the operation of a vehicle. Sixteen is the age of making mistakes and learning form them. Drivers who start at a younger age have time to make those mistakes, compared to being eighteen, where you would be held more accountable. The more you do something, the better you get. You learn as you go, and having time to gain experience at vehicle operations is a crucial part in becoming a well-developed driver by the time you are eighteen. Adding to the operation of a vehicle, general experience is the best way to learn and understand something, and this includes the rules and regulations of the roads and the traffic around you. You learn key things such as respect for the road and other drivers, common courtesy, and attentiveness. For example, if a person drives with their lights off in the middle of the night or continuously speeds through a yellow light, they are not following the rules and regulations of the road. Being able to properly assess any situation that arises is crucial. This could be from angry drivers around you to taking the best possible route, reacting to road conditions or being fully aware of what is going on in and out of the vehicle.
