The Truth on Junk Food The first idea that can be mention about this issue is: do we actually know what we are eating? If people knew this, they would understand the reasons for the increase in obesity and diseases such as cancer and gastritis. This is mainly due to the way in which people are fed; but, mainly because people have no care at the time of eating. The following aspects are mentioned in this essay: 1. What is junk food? 2. Things that induce people to eat junk food. 3. Main products currently consumed and effects What is junk food? It is true that people tend to call food to junk food, but according to our ancestors and recalling a famous phrase of Hippocrates: "let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food", we understand that what we eat must provide the necessary nutrients to our well-being; However, junk food, such as soups, sausages, sweets, do not provide a wellness, they are an imitation of the real food, imitation because it does not contain any nutritional value. Substances containing these products are neither vitamins nor proteins, are chemicals such as dyes or flavorings and the results that people get to eat this type of food is to convert their bodies in garbage dumps. To be prone to this type of artificial feeding or fast food, people are only causing a rapid disease or a quick death. Things that induce people to eat junk food. This type of food are formed by saturated fats, large quantities of salt, and mainly food additives such as the flavorings and dyes. Additives perform functions of neurotransmitters in the nervous system, exciting a person who consumes these products to suit a client’s needs. A clear example is seen in children, since it is the most vulnerable to this type of product. Children called attention to the product packaging, smell, or taste.
