He is considered one of the most complete players in the NBA, has been selected to every All-NBA Team since 1999, and has been featured in the last twelve NBA All-Star games. Sports writers and sports casters have frequently compared Bryant to Michael Jordan, a comparison Bryant dislikes. In 2007, an ESPN poll of sportswriters voted him as the second best shooting guard in NBA history behind Jordan. Bryant is a prolific scorer, averaging 25.3 points per game for his career, along with 5.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.5 steals as of the end of the 2009-2010 regular seasons. He is known for his ability to create shots for himself and is a standout three-point shooter, sharing the single-game NBA record for three pointers made with twelve.
Kobe Bryant VS LeBron James The National Basketball Association (NBA) has produced some of the greatest men’s basketball players who all have put a mark in the record books based off their performances. Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat’s star LeBron James are both the face of the NBA toady. The ultimate goal for both players is to win championships. However, their approach to the same goal is different. Through exploring their early life, style of play and team/individual performance, there was a dramatic difference to reaching one common goal; winning championships.
His electrifying senior season earned him accolades such as McDonald's All-American and North Carolina's Mr. Basketball to name a couple (JockBio). In the McDonald's All-American game, Paul was teammates with the teenage phenomenon LeBron James. Chris Paul showed the world what type of player he was going to be, collecting ten assists and playing to get his teammates in position to score (Wake Forest: Men's Basketball). His pass-first approach to the game was special in itself, but what separated him as a superstar was his ability to score, as well as see the floor as arguably the best passer on the floor at all times. CP3 is notorious for manufacturing baskets when there seems to be no holes in the defense.
Rebound. Thousands of fans decked out in colorful jerseys and hats cheer on their favorite team. Kobe Bean Bryant, of the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron Raymone James of the Miami Heat are the two stars that basketball fans love to watch. They are arguably the two most dominant basketball players in the NBA today. LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are two of the greatest, yet very different, basketball players to play in the National Basketball Association.
He was once one of the most reviled athletes in the entire country. Accused of rape and severely criticized by former teammates, especially Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant faced obstacles and challenges that would have forced many to give in and give up. However, the perseverance that Bryant has shown by rebuilding his image and his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, has transformed him into a champion on the court and in life as well. The Lakers recently captured their 16th NBA championship and fifth with Kobe Bryant as its star shooting guard. “It’s so tough to win a championship, to have to start over from scratch,” said Bryant.
Michael Jordan had a remarkable beginning when joining the draft because he excelled in basketball in college and in the Olympics in 1984. Nike found this an opportunity to market Michael Jordan since Nike had a hard time entering the basketball industry. From the success from the shoe, the shoe collectors, who bought sold and traded these shoes, Air Jordans expanded over time to different outlets, such as clothing, hats, key chains, phone cases etc. and was recognized as the best basketball brand known to man. Throughout the course of twenty-six years Air Jordans has over 100 different styles of shoes and color schemes and has dominated the sneaker market.
Kyle Everett Mr. Ward ENGL-1302 10/16/13 72-10 Micheal Jordan is considered the basketball messiah, but what about the bulls '95-'96 season where they achieved an NBA best 72 win season. Throughout this season they shattered a multitude of records ranging from the longest home win streak in a single season to the most road game wins in a single season. Without a question this was one of if not the best performances by a single team in theentire history of the NBA. I’m going to rate the bulls on certain criteria like home court dominance, margin of victory, Defense, Month by Month Dominance, post season record and the season record. With these achievements I plan to prove that the bulls '95-'96 season was the greatest team/season
Some similarities are they both play professional basketball, both drafted out of high school into the NBA, and both have won Olympic gold medals in 2008. The differences are Kobe has been in the league for 15 years and LeBron for 9 years. Since in the NBA, LeBron has played for two teams and Kobe only one. Nevertheless if these two great athletes played a game against each other, the stats at the end of the game would determine who might be the better player for just that game. People may say LeBron was better because he has more power, better vision, bigger, faster, stronger, and he over powers people.
He is 6’11” tall; He comes armed with a 7’6” wingspan and a 40” vertical (“nba.com”). Shaq on the other hand is 7’1” tall; He has a 7’7” wingspan and a 32” vertical leap (“Players”). Dwight Howard was the youngest player ever to 7,000 rebounds (“Latest Headlines-NBA news”). Howard accomplished this at the young age of twenty-five years and eighty-three days. At this pace he will easily amass Shaq’s career total of 13,089 rebounds before he is finished (“Players”).
This shadow was his measuring stick. Ervin “Magic” Johnson, the guy he played against in the championship against Michigan, was like his shadow. Magic played for the Los Angeles Lakers. They weren’t best friends at first, but they were the influence on each other. The reason they pushed for victory.
