Employee Portfolio Management Plan Summary In organizational behavior, personality traits play the biggest key role. Why? Because the behavior of the people and how they think greatly influences organizational performance, these three things thinking, feelings and behavior, which by the way are personal, affects many aspects of the workplace. If we look a bit closer we find that people's personalities persuade their behavior in some groups, along with their attitudes, and the manner in which they make decisions. They can also benefit from interventions that can help to modify the team structure. Implementing flexible work schedules can also decrease stress in the workplace and contribute to improving organizational performance. To help employees handle the conflict and stress of the work schedule many organizations have adopted guidelines that allow alternate shifts and schedules (Jex & Britt, 2008).

Motivation with-in an organization is crucial to the success of the organization and the personal success of the employee. Understanding the process in which an organization sets goals, gives rewards, performs employee evaluations can make an organization grow as well as keep up a good performance reputation. Setting goals can have an impact on workplace productivity in a positive and a negative way. Rewards that are given for quality performance helps an individual be able to assess themselves, helping them be able to have job satisfaction along with personal growth.
Individual Task Outcomes are important because it gives the employee an opportunity to set and achieve goals. Behaviors are not quite as important as Task Outcomes but, are a good indicator of the type of employee the individual will become. If they are enthusiastic about their work then, they are a valuable asset to the company. A 360-Degree Performance Evaluation involves the individual’s superiors, peers, and subordinates. These individuals submit anonymous reviews of the employee being evaluated.

It is important to understand people by applying specific theories related to reinforcement, teamwork, why employees fail at their job and motivation. As a leader, it is significant for employees to feel appreciated. A simple thank you shows appreciation and respect for the employee. Employee Motivation Theory Often times companies that struggle with the relationship between the employees and the goals of the organization; sometimes the moral of its employee is thread that sets the relationship apart. Managers have made several failed attempts to establish that relationship with the employee to knit them together with the goals of the organization. Therefore, the company level of accomplishments is diminished. A good manager has learned good people skills, and often times he/she is able to motivate their employees to increase their output. It is important to be able to penetrate any barriers that the employee may have as a defense mechanism.
Many employers now evaluate the applicant’s credit report, although it does the employer no good knowing what companies you have or have not paid it tells them a whole lot about how responsible the person is; which is one of the most essential skills needed to be successful in today’s workforce. In my opinion, the most ideal employee will have the skills of being punctual, honest, responsible, kind, being able to work well with others, and being willing to further their education. They will also have the knowledge of knowing when to use their resources and where to find the information needed, and to not be fearful of the consequences when they make a mistake and being honest enough to verbalize it. The skill of being punctual speaks for itself when working any job it is important that you are clocked in and ready to work when you shift starts. Not only because you have a job of which, is organized based on your scheduled hours, but also for the respect of your co- workers.
Maintaining an effective workplace is the reasonability of managers or supervisors by setting the example, becoming a role model, open communication, and motivation will keep employees happy and satisfy.
