As researchers stated, "These young adults exhibited many problems, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and suicide attempts (Silverman, Reinherz, & Giaconia, 1996). Children that have been abused or neglected have been known to do poorly in school. Children that are abused or neglected often have difficulties in relationships later in life with other adults as well as their peers. Physical abuse also has behavioral consequences such as difficulties during adolescence, juvenile delinquency and adult criminality, alcohol and other drug abuse, and abusive behavior. Most children that have been neglected or abused often develop behavioral ranging from delinquency to mental health problems.
The patients mood swings can trigger arguments with friends or family which can result in a suicide attempt. This is very common in BPD sufferers, they are often hospitalized on more than one occasion for attempted suicide. Another “symptom” of Borderline Personality Disorder is unstable relationships. A person with BPD has a lot of difficulty establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships. For example, an individual with BPD might meet someone and it would be “love at first sight,” but after a short period of time they become disappointed with the other person.

Emotions and Fragile X With these factors present along with the heightened emotional sensitivity associated with Fragile X Syndrome, many have feelings of isolation, low self – esteem and have difficulties having close friendships. Numerous social factors may complicate emotions, in that the person with Fragile X Syndrome may be excluded or discriminated due to these feelings. Tsiouris and Brown also state, “Males with Fragile X Syndrome are more shy, socially withdrawn, and less energetic than adults with intellectual disability but without Fragile X Syndrome”

When people relate to Depression, their thoughts are usually associated with anxiety. Anxiety is the disorder where people are worried about the absolute most. For instance, a mother losing her children in a large crowd can often cause her distress. Another symptom developed from having Depression is anxiety. Anxiety develops in one of four complex ways.
Borderline Personality Disorder Borderline personality disorder is a disorder that affects mental health and causes major emotional instability. It can lead to other mental as well as behavioral problems. A person with borderline personality disorder usually has a very distorted self-image and often feels worthless. He/she often experiences frequent mood swings, anger, and impulsiveness, which may push people away, even if he wants to have meaningful relationships. Don’t despair if you have this type of personality disorder.
It is common for those suffering from BPD and their families to feel confused by a lack of clear diagnosis, effective treatments and accurate information. It is true that the disorder originates in the families of those who suffer from it, and is closely related to traumatic events during childhood and to PTSD.
