It is easier to learn from a mentor with whose philosophies you agree as opposed to learning from one with whom you disagree. Opposition can be stressful and thwart the learning process. Nowadays people follow many philosophies and directions. The most interesting thing is that every person thinks that his or her philosophy is right. People always try to prove their theories and points of view and find many ways of doing it. One statement can bring different meanings which depend on the point from which we look at this statement. So, sometimes we can meet the situation when our mentor or teacher can give us theory or philosophy which we don’t support. Some people think that it is difficult to manage with such situation. While others think that even if opposition can be stressful it doesn’t thwart learning process and can be very useful. So, I disagree with the main statement. Initially, in the most cases mentor knows more about one or another subject than students or pupils. Professors always study deep their subjects and meet different theories and points of view. But when they need to give necessary information to their students, they choose the most suitable and rational theory and explain it to audience. So, if you have different philosophy with your mentor, you should think about all received information and decide if you keep your theory or change it according to the professor’s thoughts. So, after all you know more about the subject of study and can compare different points of view. Secondly, when you know something different from your professor’s thoughts and material, you can discuss it with him and try to prove your rightness. In this situation you can train to bring arguments in order to defend your point of view. In our society we should know how to do it. So, you can’t miss the opportunity to express your opinion.
