War Synthesis Essay Taking a glance at the past will show that war has been a recurrent turn of events in the history of nations. No generation has been free of the disastrous effects of war. And I don’t believe there will ever be a generation that won’t face war. Although war is not something we wish upon, I do find it to be necessary when we are being bullied. Ghandi states that, “War is an unmitigated evil. But it certainly does one good thing: It drives away fear and brings bravery to the surface.” What he means by this is that although war is evil it brings out the bravery of a country. I agree with this whole heartedly because war is something that our country shouldn’t necessarily turn to, but if it is needed our brave soldiers are willing to sacrifice their lives to fight for us. In Obama’s Nobel Prize acceptance speech, he says, “the instruments of war do have a role to play in preserving the peace.” Many countries have received help from our men and women in the service. War brought our country to aid many other countries. It has also bettered our lives now and in the future, so we can live in freedom and prosperity. “War Isn’t Fought in the Headlines” portrays the image of war in which a soldier is calm and has his thoughts together, and the other man just prepared to kill. I think America best fits the soldier with his thoughts together. When we go to war, we aren’t just going to kill; we are going to defend our country and stand up for what we believe. We can’t be unorganized with our thoughts. Our priorities and mindset have to be in the right place. All and all war is indeed an evil thing. But it comes with many positives as well as negatives. In many cases, the positives outweigh the negatives. As long as we have our priorities set straight I believe war can be very beneficiary when it boils down to
