By only donating money that we spend on things not necessary to survive we are still able to live a life that is comfortable and the idea of rich and poor people can be thrown away. Though this could probably only be achieved with government intervention, the possibilities are endless. Of course a big downside to this idea is the fact that we work hard for our money. It can seem like a waste to give it away after we work long and hard to obtain it. Another con is that after living with an excess of everything for so long, the people who are most prosperous might not be as willing to give it up.
Foreigners believe that success can be obtained in America with hard work, persistence, and determination. To them, America is the place where dreams can come true. Some Americans have a hard time grasping why immigrants would risk their lives in order to come to America. From an American’s perspective, one’s life is more valuable then any job opportunity or sum of money, however for an immigrant, a decent paying job is necessary in order to live a satisfactory life. Immigrants realize that crossing the border illegally could mean losing their life, but many believe the life they currently have is not worth living.

They may feel better emotionally because of the fact that they have a job; this is because they would have earned the money themselves, which to many would be a personal achievement and a ‘step up’ in life leading them to feel better about themselves. Another reason that having a job could affect them in a positive way is because they feel that they do not have to rely on their parents’ income and can spend their money how and when they want to. Analytical Essay Overall wellbeing, an extravagant lifestyle, and wealth all come to mind when I ponder the good life but what does the good life actually cost? At first glance, this seems like a loaded question that requires multiple dissertations in order to answer. I even contemplated whether or not the good life had a cost at all. Breaking the good life into separate topics relieves much of the stress when it comes to giving an answer. In terms of consumerism, the good life is damaging to the environment, places too much emphasis on money, and it dwindles the importance of non-market values.
Being able to get somewhere in America is tough. Many think that having to work hard and be persevering is the way to become successful. Others have a different opinion on being successful in America. They think that there are factors that can be opposing to a person’s life. Reforming the Welfare System The welfare system as we know it is broken. It is unfair to the recipients themselves, to those who need it and do not receive it, and to those taxpayers who struggle in middle class helping to pay for it all. In many cases, the system itself keeps people in poverty. The uneducated are not given the necessary resources to get them out of the system and no requirements are in place to prevent generations of families from staying in the welfare cycle. One reason the welfare system should be reformed is because of inequalities.
If we did not advance in society we could not improve many aspects of life, such as healthcare, technology, or economic standing. If everyone was “equal” in society, the society would not grow because people would be content with what they have. People do not want to work to enhance the living style of someone else who does nothing but sit around all day. It is important to find the middle between individualism and the helping of society. It is important to help others.
