I wake up. It’s 5:30, and I should be getting out of bed to get ready for another day of school. While this is what I should be doing, I instead check my Facebook from my phone. According to statistics, so do 60% of most Americans. In the modern world, one can’t go a mere five minutes without seeing some form of a smartphone around them, whether it’s advertised in media or we see with our own eyes. Phones have created a new simplicity in our lives, one that the average user can’t go without. For the newcomer to technology, this can all seem overwhelming. Most likely the person doesn’t know where to start looking for a smartphone. My friends Scott and Justin often argue over which kind of phone offers more. Scott is an iPhone aficionado, while Justin worships his Android phone. The two of them literally jump at any chance to brag about their respective phones, yet out of all the battles they’ve had with one another, there has been no definite victor, much like there is no definite better phone. Individuals have different tastes that need different satisfactions. Much how like everyone is an individual, so should our phones be. Many people look for an easily customizable phone. With the abilities to download music, photos, and apps, both phones have vast degrees of custom ability. Take any persons iPhone or Galaxy SIII, and take a glance at their wallpaper; Usually it’s been changed to a photo that person has taken or downloaded personally. Both phones offer multiple “screens”, or panels to display multiple apps with. The iPhone is the most basic way to describe these features. The home screen of the phone doubles as it’s menu screen, showcasing the apps on the phone right from the get-go.
