CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Bananas are one of the most delicious and nutritious fruit in the world. They come in variety of sizes and colors when ripe, including green, yellow, purple, and red. They are native to Southeast Asia, and are likely to have been first domesticated in Papua New Guinea. Today, they are cultivated throughout the tropics such as Philippines, Mexico, etc. They are grown, primarily, for their fruit, and to a lesser extent to make fiber, banana wine, and ornamental purposes.   Today, they are known for their sweet taste, good nutritional properties with their high content in potassium and fibers (and vitamins such as B6, C and A), and best of all their ease of use: just peel and eat!
As we all know, bananas are highly rich in vitamins and minerals which are beneficial for our health, keeping us fit and healthy round the year. But, don’t you know that these benefits are not just limited to health but also extend up to beauty treatments as well? Well, don’t be surprised because it’s their undemanding measure of vitamins and minerals which can be very useful in general hair and skin care such as repairing dry and sun-damaged hair and skin. Even the damages caused by exposure to dirt, pollution and other environmental toxins can be treated with bananas. In addition, they can also protect the skin and hair from further damage. Thus, they can be the solution to major problems on skin (such as dry skin, acne, blemishes and pimples, and skin flaking) and hair (such as split ends, breakage, dry and frizzy hair, and even hair loss) not only because of their contents but also because, first, they are economical and inexpensive, and, second, they are very safe and there is no use of chemicals in them.
