Outcome 2.2 Describe a range of communication methods. Speaking loudly and clearly, keeping sentences short and precise, trying not to convey too much information too quickly. Using visual gestures and signs may be very effective for the hard of hearing.

Assignment 203- Task B continued. Biii) Describe ways of working that are inclusive and support anti-discriminatory practice. For example, you could plan activities that all individuals can be involved in regardless of ability, providing information and support that all individuals can access and understand whether it be in forms of pictures, sound or anything else. Being accepted and involved can empower individuals so that they don’t make themselves easy targets for any act of discrimination, including individuality of religion and culture or it may be that they have a mental or physical disability. This enables others to get to know the individual and learn about them so they are less likely to stereotype or use discriminatory practice against them.
If you are having problems communicating to the client you can either ask your management for advise, or you can ask other members of staff. The clients family might be able to help you communicate. Their own way of communicating because they can’t talk or hear properly or their own physical difficulties sometimes their age or gender plays a part. We need to know all about these things so we can respond to a person’s needs or wants, whether they are alright or not. Communication methods could be sign language, Braille, finger spelling, tone of voice, body language, pictures or even a translator. Some barriers to communication could be a different language, mental problems, aggression, and lack of confidence or effects of alcohol or drugs. We can help to communicate with people by using an interpreter, a signer, talking clearly and using proper vocabulary not slang.
Since depression lacks consistency, it’s difficult to track feelings down in a way that people can deal with them without help. Most people have trouble seeking help or are uncomfortable in telling a stranger their problems. Hence, why people now a days are eager to ask their doctor for a quick fix medication. Its usually best to just take time for one self to think, with out the pressures of everyday life. In this way depression can also work as “taking a break”, everyone needs a break sometimes.
