* 1. Please define the terms anatomy and physiology. * Anatomy is the study of the body’s structure and physiology is the study of the body’s function. Explain the connection between anatomy and physiology within the human body; basically how do they influence one another? * Anatomy and physiology influence each other by allowing people to grasp changes and symptoms that occur with certain diseases. Once learning about the structure of a certain part of your body, it makes it so much easier to understand the functions of each body part. Using the terminology of the anatomical landmarks/regions and directional terms, please write 2 example sentences with proper usage. For example, “the axilla region is superior to the cubital region of the body”. * The sternal region is anterior to the body compared to the vertebral column. * The cephalic region of the body is superior on the body compared to the plantar. Compare and contrast the two feedback mechanisms our bodies use to maintain homeostasis. * When temperature is dropping, negative feedback causes the opposing temperature to rise so even out homeostasis. During positive feedback, both of the temperatures tend to increase. An example of negative feedback could be, when the temperature outside drops, your body realizes the drop and your muscles start to shiver causing the body temperature to slowly increase. An example of positive feedback could be you having a fever and the fever continues to rise. What would happen if our thermoregulation (temperature control) used a positive feedback to maintain homeostasis? * When the temperature changes the brain fails to recognize that temperature is raising or dropping. Since the brain fails to notice these changes it doesn’t know to send nerve impulses throughout the body. With the body not recognizing these changes and not sending nerve
