Interpersonal conflict is a condition wherein one or more persons have irreconcilable differences, personal or otherwise, meaning neither of the persons involved want a peaceful solution to their existing problem. It is a situation in which one or both persons have extreme dislike or distrust in their personal relationship and finding a solution are farthest from their minds due to the difficulty in dealing or helping each other. Moreover, both parties have conflicting interests as a result of negative attitude and incompatibility as far as their personal relationship is concerned. The symptoms of this conflict is an abnormal occurrence of personal hatred with each other usually resulting to destroyed reputation for both parties due to an atmosphere of plain and simple animosity. Relatedly, the protagonists usually display or demonstrate an attitude or behavior which translates to emotional distress such as pain, hurt feelings, depression, mental anguish and the like. Incidentally, a resolution to the existing interpersonal conflict has to be made whether to frontally face the problem or completely disregard it. The decision to deal with the problem will eventually result to a clearer picture whether the interpersonal conflict will prosper to an ideal resolution or a destroyed relationship due to several factors focusing on personal relationships. Incidentally, based on the prospective benefits, the positive action undertaken fortifies the deep-rooted relationships, while the negative action will consequently destroy relationships. It is in this light, that the appropriate process on how to effectively confront the conflict should reign over and above among various interests as far as interpersonal relationship is concerned.
