This assignment created a challenge for me as I do not communicate with instant messaging,
text, email, or any of the other chat lines that are offered on the internet. I did choose one
message that I did answer from one of my family members. After entering the information
requested on the website “Language Style Matching” I received a LSM score of 0.93.
According to this test the results were not trustworthy because one of the writing samples was
less the 50 words. The score of 0.93 suggested that the samples were very compatible and this
score was far above the average score. I do not feel that this feedback is very reliable or
accurate. My samples was a message that was with a family member and we were basically
commenting on how much we missed our families and the pressure of money issues, which
we both were commenting on. I feel that if the conversations are so close to each other in
nature then there is no reason that this test would be something that should be done to see if
you are able to understand each other. The website stated that this LSM is in the experimental
phase so why would anyone rely on this information and use it. I feel that you should be able
to communicate with another person by asking if what I am talking about makes sense to them
and get their feedback instead of a test that is unreliable.

that people that used the same language were much more apt to stay together much longer
than people who didn't use the same language. I don't know how a study like this was able
to compare these facts. I would...
