Internal and External Factors XXXXXXX XMGT/230 04/13/2012 XXXXXXX Internal and External Factors A good business depends on good management. A good management team is based on the four functions of management, which are planning, organizing, leading and controlling. First, planning is delivering strategic value. Second is, organizing, which is building a dynamic organization. Third is leading, this is mobilizing people. The final function is controlling, which is learning and changing. (1) While most companies strive to follow the four functions of management, sometimes internal and external factors come into play. For example in the case of a company called Marware, Inc., (which is where I work). Marware provides protective cases for all Apple electronic devices like iPhone, iPads, iPods, MacBooks as well, as for Amazon’s line of Kindles. “Marware has evolved along with the industry to meet the demands of the mobile community with products that provide the perfect balance of style and functionality, thus enhancing the lifestyle of our customers.” (2) The owners of Marware believe in diversity. They feel that diversity enhances their products and their employees. The possibilities are endless for Marware because they employ people from many different backgrounds and cultures. Diversity in this company helps in a globalization aspect as well. It allows the company to provide products and service for millions of customers all around the world. In order to keep the company so successfully, it is very important to follow the four functions of management. Planning is the key factor for Marware. Because of its diversity, the employees are able to bring different and creative ideas to the table. They are in a position to deal with and handle any situations that come up or might come up in the future. Globalization is also an important element in the
