Any room can be turned into a work of art with a little creativity and imagination! Interior design styles are always changing. Many trends come and go, but there are some that remain timeless and are still exhibited in households today. Interior design is a creative art form that involves extensive planning, knowledge of different styles, and skills to redecorate. What is Interior Design? Interior design is more than just aesthetics. It's about finding creative design solutions for interior environments while supporting the health, safety and well being of occupants and enhancing their quality of life. Design is coming to grips with one’s real lifestyle, one’s real place in the world, rooms should not be put together for show but to nourish one’s wellbeing. What is Interior Decoration? Interior Decorating refers to the furnishing of interior spaces in homes, offices, schools, and public spaces. It deals with all aspects of lighting, color, texture, paint, furniture purchase and placement, flooring selection and installation, fabric installations, window treatments, and accessories. It is the application or updating of the finishes and elements that will be included within a room space. The History of interior design and decoration In the past, Interiors were put together instinctively as a part of the process of building. The profession of interior design has been a consequence of the development of society and the complex architecture that has resulted from the development of industrial processes.
