Cross Cultural Experience Introduction Cross-cultural experiences can be defined in several ways. Some view these experiences as a gateway to interact with people from diverse culture, often experiencing things unfathomable in relation to one's own life. Also, some would say that cross-culture is a way to understand people of all races and circumstances, lowering the threat of war and misunderstandings. I believe that cross-culture means all of these ideas. It’s a way to explore others world or culture from their words. We get a chance to taste their cuisine, understand their lifestyles, the way they view our culture. This also gives us an idea why each individual has his own way of handling situations as each individual are brought from differently in their respective cultural backgrounds. Cross cultural experience is a way to know different tradition from around the world. It’s exciting to know that when half of the world is busy in their work other half of the world will be in their deep sleep. I being from other culture it was hard for me initially to accept an extreme culture from mine, now that one year has passed and gradually accepting Canadian culture into me and had come cross different people from different parts of the world rather than a Canadian and my culture it was interesting to get to know that there people like me who are experiencing cultural shock. With guidance from Learning Journals from University of Worcester, I hail from India, so I interviewed a person who is a neighbour to my country, Ms. Rabila Akthar from Pakistan. Rabila is my acquaintance from my new class. She is a simple and traditional Muslim girl. I did my learning journal with the help of recording everything verbally with her permission.
