Infosys Consulting in 2006: Leading the Next Generation of Business and Information Technology Consulting Introduction Infosys Consulting Inc. ‘ICI’ is a subsidiary from Infosys Technologies, a world leading services company with revenues up to $1.6 billion in 2005. In the following analysis, an action plan is proposed for ICI in its early inception into the market in order to make progress for the company and for its parent company, Infosys Technologies. Then an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of ICI is provided. Finally, a set of recommendations are provided for ICI to “stay ahead of the game”, as described by its CEO, Steve Pratt (as cited in Burgelman, Christensen, & Wheelwright, 2008). Action Plan The proposed action plan is centered around the current challenges facing ICI and provides targeted solutions for these challenges. 1. It is very important to establish a healthy relationship between ICI and its parent company, Infosys Technologies, because a good portion of ICI clients are expected to come from Infosys Technologies’ clients that the company want to build more sustainable relationship with. This why it is also important to have a clear interface between the two companies in order not have a competition between ICI and internal business units inside Infosys Technologies like the sales or the enterprise solution business units (Burgelman, Christensen, & Wheelwright, 2008). 2. The company will need to be more aggressive in its pursuit for hiring more talented staff with experiences in consulting from one side, and to train existing staff from the other side. The company will need to increase the on-shore hiring and women hiring percentages according to the company’s CEO (Burgelman, Christensen, & Wheelwright, 2008). 3.
