The weather is getting nicer outside and you decided this a great time to get in shape, you want to enjoy the outdoors so you decided that yes running is the just what need! So you start running and suddenly your feet hurt, your arm has a cramp and it seems to rain and be super-hot all in just ten minutes. So then you turn around and you’re like screw it I’m never doing this again! This happens often to people who start running but also to experienced runners not being properly prepared for what all a run entails.” Running is an easily accessible activity-- with a decent pair of sneakers and some determination, anyone can run.” ,bosts Elizabeth Sadler a Vanderbilt Psychology Master-y. So why is it that so often anytime we set out on a run it turns into loathing experience? It is because we are ill prepared. As a runner of six years I can say from experience I have defiantly had those moments. Now with running you have to think back to your girl scout and boy scout days and remember the motto: Be prepared! With a few tips on where to run, what to wear, and how to mentally prepare, anyone can dominate a run. Let’s first set the scene of your run. Where are you going to go? Running is a great way to enjoy much of the scenery in any area, but you don’t want to get lost. Plan ahead, if you plan on just running on the streets always try to plan a route and stick to it even if you just do it mentally it can greatly decrease the chance of getting lost and increase the enjoyment factor of your run. If you plan on driving to destination like a park or a beach and then running keep in mind, how big the area might be verses how long you are going to run, if it has paved trails or not, and if it’s by a good neighborhood. You don’t want to end up running in circles on muddy goose poop grass, just to come back and find out your car was broken into. A great place to look for
