The threat of terrorist attacks changed American culture immensely; the devastation wakened the need for protection and a sense of security. Dramatic measures were taken in order to protect this country, so foreign relations were severely affected. Post 9/11 government saw the “link between immigration and security”, and that by changing foreign policy it would “reduce the likelihood of future attacks” (Krikorian 567).The safety measure in airports were countless from metal detectors to full body scans. “The immigration system has being penetrated by the enemy”, the officials realized which led to unfair accusation of innocents (Krikorian 568). “Overzealous officials” grill suspicious foreigners “to the point of near panic” (Khan 559).

Under many of the amendments we as the people are protected from the government. Who know what it would be for us, if the government have all the power to control our lives and they can use power however they like. I think that our founding father did great job with the constitution of the United States, they make sure the power of the government is not over the control. The fifth amendment of the United States constitutions give an individual right from being prosecuted twice for substantially on the crime.
Hugo Black points out that the amendment says, Congress shall make no law abridging freedom of speech. “No law means no law.” The Constitution of the United States of America is perhaps the most valued and important document in our country. The Constitution in my own words is the understood rules established years ago by the first fathers of our country. The politicians who wrote the Constitution were trying to bring freedom to the country while at the same time equality. It was a very brave move for these men to try to enforce new rules and rights on a new country.
Could be considered the conservative approach to the crime prevention module. Supporters prefer the “assembly line” (Worral p.14) method to expedite alleged criminals through the means of plea bargains to not clog up the courtrooms, which can be tied with quantity over quality. For example, meeting citation quotas or setting up DUI check points, which in essence is for the benefit of public safety; but can also be seeing as a way to increase revenue. One issue at the current moment would be the need for cameras on the uniforms of officers policing the street. The Due Process model would say that it is needed to make sure that officers properly follow procedures while questioning or detaining suspect on the street, in the case that something gets out of hand, a jury can see what actually happened.
Immediately after the 9/11 terrorists attacks, there was an overwhelming need to review and change the security procedures that were in place at that time. Since then, there have been several major security measures introduced and implemented across the country. What is clearly evident is that the USFG DOES NOT need to substantially reduce security measures in all U.S. airports. In fact, the USFG should increase its role in security measures. Some security experts and the media have scrutinized and even lambasted current security measures in U.S. airports.
In the vigilantism cases, although we could all relate to the frustration involved for the actors, we all agree that one must stay within the bounds of the law to seek out justice. The next discussion involved civil disobedience and we found that we agreed that civil disobedience has been helpful historically to help change the laws and improve our society. However, the general consensus on civil disobedience was also that the acts of disobedience must be done in a peaceful manner for the acts to be effective. The final acts of crimes among professionals had another anonymous decision. Our team found that we did not agree with those professionals who chose to commit crimes.
When security is tightened the main focus may be set on a specific race, creed, ethnicity, or religion. This could also affect people who appear to be of a certain religion or race but may very well be American citizens. Again this type of security measure could bring to the surface a terror cell but in the process of uncovering these cells, whose rights of privacy have been squandered while the investigation was going on? The common-good approach is based on the thoughts, values and common good of the community. Through this approach the process of security is handled through a local agency using impartial measures regardless of race, creed, color, or religion.
Though in the attempts to obtain security, the people of the United States are giving up their freedoms and others are having those same freedoms taken away from them. The pursuit of stopping terrorism has taken precedence over an individuals civil rights. Surveillance has increased in attempts to catch terrorists. Under the USA Patriot Act which is the "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism," police agencies are given the authority to conduct Internet and expanded telephone surveillance, as well as loosen the restrictions placed on the C.I.A in the 1970's to engage in domestic surveillance. The Patriot act presents a broadened definition of terrorism, and provides some level of detention of suspected terrorists as
This proves that CSOs are capable of bringing changes on different levels that help protect the vulnerable from threats and develop their rights. Pressure from domestic audience On a smaller scale, the pressure from domestic population plays a deciding factor on securitising threats as well. Governments, needing to maintain legitimacy with its people, would have to address threats faced by its people. If there are issues that threatens the human security of the people, it is likely that protests and riots will be started. If the matters continue to be disregarded, the government would then face threats on their own accountability to the people and their right to rule.
The Most Important US Constitutional Right: The Freedom of Speech Today, many wonder the usefulness of their freedom of expression when it is almost impossible for their voices to be heard by others without the access to TV networks or popular websites. The United States Constitution was written to protect citizens from being incarcerated due to their beliefs or thoughts, not to make sure every American’s voice could be heard by as many people as one would like. The right to free speech is still valuable, even if getting others to hear your voice without influence is difficult. The reason that this amendment was so important to the founding fathers was that it fixed a problem which had driven many people from England in the first place. Nobody knew what free speech was during the time of the writing of the constitution.
