This saw Apple’s stock increasing from $7/share in April 2003 to over $46/share in August 2005. A look at the Apple’s 10-K statement for the fiscal year 2004 shows an astronomical increase from 2002 to 2004. Apple has maintained a flat pricing policy on all downloaded music ($0.99/song). The record companies were initially happy receiving $0.70/song from Apple since prior to this arrangement, they were not getting paid for downloaded music (Brickley, Smith, & Zimmerman, 2009).
Therefore, the company determined its core developing strategy to retrieve its market position. The strategy is the Three-legged growth strategy, which includes organic sales growth of existing brands, new product introductions, and further strategic acquisitions that fit within the company’s vision. Along with the core strategy, Smucker’s strategic acquisition could be defined as its core competence. It was right for Smucker that only acquired those matured and leading brands in markets, which proved this strategy successfully brought Smucker great profit increasing from $36 million to $494million in a 10-year period. In addition, acquisitions of succeed brands also expanded Smucker’s product diversities and market shares.
Apple has maintained a step ahead of competition of other companies that compete with Apple and as a result Apple has created a quality and loyal customer base. Apple has used the design and creativity processes within the Apple organization to create top of the line products that in most consumer’s eyes can do more than what is needed. Apple has created these products with the vast array of capabilities to maintain the healthy customer and business relationships that Apple has created. Sony has undergone some changes due to the Apple product line-up but for the most part Sony resides within a similar yet different marketplace and industry. Sony specializes in many different electronic and technological equipment production and distribution.
It was during the beginning of Dell, Inc. that Dell had developed most powerful PC chip. In 1988, Dell had grown to earn $3.5 million in profits through marketing its products across the world and when Dell released its first Dell computer, “The Turbo,” it generated $73 million in profits from the release. In 1993, Dell astonished the world by releasing its first laptop model, which housed the most advanced technologies in the computer market and Dell continued to prosper with its technology innovations. I like Dell, Inc. because the company provides exceptional products and customer services, including myself, with the best experience. Dell’s goal is to meet customer’s expectations and satisfactions with many qualities, such as: “highest quality, leading technology, individual and company accountability, best in class service and support, flexible customization capability, superior corporation citizenship, and financial stability.” Apple is also one of my favorite companies.

In the world of personal handheld devices, the I industry remains dominant among its competitors and can continue to demand a price for which Apple known for, and yet holds its value even through re-sale.
