On this day, some highly recognized people were born, while others died. Violent crimes and wars were brought forth, while others were resolved. Also, people worked and lived in outer space for the first time. Black actors were recognized for their work. Important people died and were born on this day. Queen Elizabeth I died on March 24th, 1603 at the age of 70 (Elizabeth 1). She was the greatest monarch that ever ruled England and it became a major power (Elizabeth 1). The major event leading to her death was the death of Robert Devereux, she felt like she was alone because the man she loved and shared her life with was gone (Elizabeth 1). Queen Elizabeth I had lived a long life but her death was “declining” (Elizabeth 1). She died of blood poisoning caused by “the applications of the white make up called ceruse” (Elizabeth 2). Clyde Chestnut Barrow was born on March 24th, 1909 (Barrow 1). He was American outlaw and criminal born in Ellis County, Texas (Barrow 1). Clyde was the leader of the Bonnie and Clyde gang (Barrow 1). He met Bonnie Parker in January 1930 when he was only 21, then he was sent to jail for burglary (Barrow 1). Bonnie smuggled him a gun and helped him escape (Barrow 1). Upon his recapture, he was jailed for two years. Bonnie and Clyde evolved from their small crimes to “nationally known bank robbers and murderers” (Barrow 1). Their gang was believed responsible for killing thirteen people including two police men plus several robberies and burglaries and assorted kidnapping, abduction, and injuries (Barrow 1).
