Importance of Reading in Life Reading can be a very important element in our lives. “Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” Sir Richard Steele. In words of Sir Richard Steele, he is trying to compare the importance of reading with exercise; exercise is good for our health and body, the same way reading is great for our minds. Pulpbooks.co.za created an ad, called “Read yourself interesting”, trying to promote their products and the habit of reading. As Pulpbooks.co.za points out “We believe in empowerment through reading and writing and so we want to break down the barrier between people and books”, this is a great attitude to try to change people’s opinion about reading. The ad that made Pulpbooks.co.za is a great way to promote the habit of reading by letting you know, in a subjectively way, that you need to read to be someone important in life. The ad made by Pulpbooks.co.za had some interesting elements that I can describe in an objective way. The main stage in the image is very similar to an office. In the image appears three persons without head; instead of head, they have a cabinet with some books inside. A table full of papers, binders, coffee, pencils and other office supplies appears in the image. The walls of the office are beige with views in color brown. Also, a blackboard with some graphs at the back of the image. The three persons that appear in the ad looks like office workers. The persons in the ad are using office cloths such as a formal shirt, formal pants and a tie. One of them, the one that is standing up, is using a sky-blue shirt with a red tie. The other ones that are sitting down, one of them is wearing a gray shirt with a white tie and the other is wearing a white shirt with a gray tie.
