The data collection method should not violate the self-respect or self-esteem of the participants. Any person’s desire to not participate in the survey should be respected. The goal of the researcher is informed consent even for videotaping, recorded interviews, etc. Observers or non-participants should not interfere with the survey. If the study is qualitative, personal bias can skew the data.
In particular, it discusses what constitutes good empirical science and how you should present your results. The first thing worth stressing is that there are no right or wrong empirical results. Empirical results are what they are and you should not be disappointed if they do not show what you had hoped they would. In an ideal world, a researcher comes up with a new theory then carries out empirical work that supports this new theory in a statistically significant way. The real world very rarely approaches this ideal.
When conducted honestly and thoroughly, the scientific method can and has provided valuable information about the world and the world’s people (Jackson, 2009). Though some people rely on other methods for gaining knowledge, scientists only accept knowledge gained through science to arrive at plausible truths (Jackson, 2009). Due in part to human error and the tendency of human nature to succumb to temptations to bias research, the results of the scientific method should be viewed with skepticism (Garzon, n.d.). The scientific method of seeking knowledge and finding truth must stay within the limits of scientific ability and allow for human fragility in order to be effective (Slick, 2012). References Garzon, F. (n.d.).
Your hypothesis is not a fact. It must be tested. Your observations may support your hypothesis or they may not. If they do not support your hypothesis, you have not wasted your time. You have learned that your hypothesis is not correct and that you must explore further.
I think this whole subject and paper was written with facts and no personal biases were added. It was written from studies instead of opinions. He also talked about how two different people from different back grounds brings their own knowledge to learn from each other without having any personal biases involved, In my own opinion this material shows that people from different backgrounds can work together through critical thinking can leave personal biases
Moore would say we can see these self evident truths when, in an argument, we are reduced to “it’s just wrong,” they require no further explanation, proof or justification. This seems a fairly logical conclusion, in order to justify what we do we look at it in basic terms, but such a process could not take place indefinitely without coming to a base truth which could not be broken down further. It’s the classic “it just is” situation in an argument, where the statement cannot be further simplified nor justified. The problem however is agreeing on what these basic moral truths are. Moore and WD Ross a fellow intuitionist agreed that pleasure, knowledge and virtue are all intrinsically good, and pain, ignorance and vice are intrinsically bad.
Is it possible that they are correct and others are wrong? Explain your answer. The authors of the video are confident to report this because they simply just believe in it. When you believe in something, of course it makes you confident in your opinions because you think is right. You won’t possibly believe in something that you know is false, right?
This is to encourage them to use the correct terms when they wish to communicate. According to John Watson, psychology should be the science of observable behavior. "Psychology as the behaviorist views it is a purely objective experimental branch of natural science. Its theoretical goal is the prediction and control of behavior. Introspection forms no essential part of its methods, nor is the scientific value of its data dependent upon the readiness with which they lend themselves to
In the current age, one would not need to create their own stories because we now have correct information because of the scientific knowledge that is currently present. The creation of people
The conclusions that the study came to are appropriate in my opinion. Based on the information gathered in the research the researchers came to the correct conclusion. Although the study covered information that does not appear to be part of the statistical information gathered the study appears to be completed without prejudice. The outcome as stated and the personal comments by the author appear to be appropriate and
