Thus resulting in employees being unsatisfied with the management of the business which later could impact the businesses relationship with its stakeholder through the recession, however this strategy in the long run could result in employees not losing their jobs as BA are benchmarking their competition who significantly seceding in the recession without tarnishing its relationship with its employees. This could result in the business surviving and becoming less likely to end up like Woolworths and what happened to their employees. On the other hand, during a recession I believe BA would not damage its relationship with its stakeholders. A reason for which is customers, who can be seen as the most important stakeholder to any business would try to spend as less money as possible during a recession. So with this in mind the cost minimisation strategy employed by BA would mean that

This is now a program that takes five years of college education. I became interested in the business field by working as the Business manager for the yearbook class where my job was to manage the accounts and lead the push for advertising to sell the yearbook. I’ve become interested in Accounting through the yearbook class and also the Accounting class here at West Iron. I believe it is
After founder Ron Zappe died in June 2010, President Rod Olson started sifting through e-mails that Zappe had exchanged five years earlier with interested buyers. Olson, who began his career in sales at the company’s outset in 1985, considered bids from public companies and a private equity firm before agreeing to sell to Hanover, Pa.-based Utz Quality Foods in January. Olson says Utz’s undisclosed offer best suited Zappe’s wishes for the future of the business. Above all other sale considerations, Zappe wanted assurance that his grandchildren and great-grandchildren would be able to enjoy Zapp’s distinctly flavored, kettle-cooked potato chips. Zappe also sought expanded distribution, brand quality retention and security for about 200 employees at factories in Gramercy, California and Pennsylvania.
When unethical decisions are made, everyone involved in the corporation and its well being are affected in a negative way and will jeopardize the well being of the business. “Ethical responsibilities of an organization’s management are to follow the generally held beliefs about behavior in society” (Wheelen and Hunger, pg 58). Ryan Parkinson 0644565 Wal-Mart – The Union Busters 2A03 – Unions: Research Paper Submitted: November 10th, 2010 If you unionize it, they won’t come. Known as one of the biggest union busters worldwide, Wal-Mart (WMT) doesn’t just leave employees union-less; they leave them unemployed. In fact, it can be argued that WMT doesn’t even recognize their staff as employees, referring to them as ‘associates’, a term that implies higher status and unionization. [i] We know, however, that this is not true and actually means lower pay and workplace dictatorship. This was evident when on October 17th, 2008, the multinational retail chain officially closed a tire and lube shop where workers had recently joined a union.
Committees also have power to appoint specialists. These are not permanent committee members, but specialists from businesses paid by the day. They aim to scrutinise the executive and hold them to account, scrutiny includes policy, administration, and expenditure of government departments. Source C suggests that Select Committees often have their recommendations ignored, and therefore the effectiveness of the committees is decreased. Due to the reports produced by Select Committees not being binding governments can disregard the advice from specialists, and reports that are produced tend not to be yananymous - especially when a general election is near.
L. Sierra said this statement, “The sad fact is that many business leaders don’t understand the value of communication” (L. Sierra, 2003). Personally, I find this fact to be shocking but I can also say that in my personal experience of dealing with people it is true. Sierra gave an equation to show non-communicators the value of communication. Sierra equation is: “Value = (Cost + Effort) Perception; That is, the value of communication is equal to the costs plus the efforts of what you're communicating to the power of perception.” (L. Sierra, 2003). Can we really measure the value communication?
