Illegal immigration has been an important and serious issue for decades; which affects everyone, both Americans and immigrants themselves. Illegal Immigration has three main purposes: first to find a better life in the “promise land”, second: free healthcare, and third: for criminal activity. Most illegal immigrants come to America with the best intentions for themselves and/or their families, but many others have alternative motives. The thing that must be remembered is that illegal immigration is illegal. It’s all in the name.
The problems caused by the Patriot Act are affecting ordinary civilian, especially legal immigrants. This law authorizes of indefinite detentions of immigrants; law enforcement officers search a home or business without the owner’s or the occupant’s permission or knowledge; allows the FBI to search telephone, e-mail, and financial records without a court order. Most of the Act only affects to the immigrants. Martin Luther King Jr. writes, “An unjust law is a code that a majority inflicts on a minority that is not binding on itself” (par. 15).
Argumentative Essay The American people don't have any problems with seasonal workers. Those are the workers who do the jobs that most of the American citizens don't want to do or are physically unable to do them. The concerns rise when seasonal workers try to steal the good jobs that citizens should have the first chance to. If the seasonal workers greatly contribute to the country, congress should reform the visa system and give them a chance to advance in the United States by making easier acceptance. The Alien Enemies Act (this is the one that forms the basis of the Patriot Act) which allow the President to capture and deport all immigrants whose country was at war with us and the final law under the Alien Sedition Acts was the Sedition Act which severely restricted a citizens right to free speech. A person could be jailed if he said anything bad against the government or it's leaders. This is really crazy because one of our freedoms is the freedom of speech. We should be able to say whatever it is that we want.

This review seeks to summarize and critique the quality of the author’s article. The main issue these immigrants face is many forms of discrimination. Due to these individuals being from outside the citizen’s respective community and having different characteristics, they are often alienated from the rest of society. Alienation is an emotional factor that could have extreme negative effects, on top of alienation the government does not protect them with the same human rights given to citizens of the nation.
However, many people in our countries are in favor of this immigration law of having no open borders and believe that only political refugees have a right to enter in the states which I find to be unreasonable. The effectiveness of this article is that there laws of immigration are unconstitutional and unfair. We need to have more options meaning different laws in place to make life easier for immigrants to go and come as they please but with some stipulations put in place.
