My Hero I choose Iker Casillas because when he was a kid, he worked so hard to play pro soccer, he’s won countless trophies, both in the world cup and in La Liga. He is the captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. And he also has lots of determination, when his team struggles, he yells at them and makes them focus because he wants to win. I think a hero is someone who motives you and is someone who you would like to become. It’s also one of those people you look at when you’re struggling and you can be like, if he can do it, so can I. According to dictionary.com, a hero is a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. When casillas was a kid, he worked so hard to go up in the ranks of soccer, and now he is probably the best goalkeeper in the world. I play goalie in my soccer club, and my teammates and coach has very high expectations from me, because a goalie is generally the best player on the team, and also the last line of defense. So whenever I struggle with something, I think about how hard he has worked when he was a kid, and that motivates me to keep pushing myself until I am at my peak. Casillas’s determination has inspired me a lot. When I played my first official regular season game, I got kicked in the head and got knocked out for a few seconds. Then I started to have a nose bleed, but when I recovered from the nose bleed, I got out onto the field again because if I didn't, my team would’ve been crushed (during the time I was off, the other team scored a goal). Iker Casillas has insipired man young goalkeepers around the world, and will most definitely inspire many more. His next great achievement may be him being the first goalkeeper in the world to win the Ballon d’Or Bibliography: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iker_Casillas
