The article, based on a passage by R. Paul Wolff, addresses the topic of belief in religious creeds. The author states two ways of thinking. The first is that a person thinks there is no reason for believing in any religious doctrine. The other argument is a person does believe and has a personal commitment of faith. The author concludes that the person who has no faith in religion could watch religious debates go on and never be affected, either positively or negatively.
Either you believe science or you have “blind faith” in some religion. Honestly, it all depends on the person. In Matt 4:17 it says, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” With this being said repent means, to change your mind. If you never believe or have faith in anything, it’s privilege to get it. Most people say it is up to you to believe whatever, but then again there is believing or knowing the truth in life.
Despite the great possibilities that God might not be real, humans hold on to the idea; therefore, humans will have something to give faith to. For example, Nietzche says, “ What water is there for us to clean ourselves.” Without this faith a human might see himself as useless. In addition, no confidant, not even hitherto, has ever been revealed to prove God. Thus, Nietzche warns of the influence that religion gave us. Wiesel's Forward Statement: “But now, I no longer pleaded for anything.
McCloskey contended against the three mystical verifications, which are the cosmological argument, the argument from design and the teleological argument. He called attention to the presence of evil on the planet that God made. He likewise called attention to that it is irrational to live by trust or faith. As indicated by McCloskey, confirmations do not essentially assume a fundamental part in the conviction of God. Page 62 of the article expresses that "most theists do not come to have faith in God as a premise for religious conviction, however come to religion as a consequence of different reasons and variables."
Jehovah Witness and Christianity The belief system of a Jehovah Witness, in comparison, is like those of Christianity when only momentarily glanced at. Any person could easily mistake the two for the same religion, just different sects or denominations. However, in reality, they differ quite profligately. The enigma that we find between these two groups is they both claim to be “Christian.” Christianity has many sects; nonetheless, a Jehovah Witness is not one of those. Jehovah Witness stands alone claiming to be the only “true Christians,” while all the other Christians are not truly Christian according to them.
• Jehovah’s witnesses differ from other religious groups by their belief in the leader in the church or religion. Jehovah’s witnesses have no human leader. They have a high value on moral living. Also, they do not take part in gambling, anal sex, oral sex, over drinking, abortions, and wars for they believe it is part of sin. Jehovah’s witnesses believe in the bible like many other religious groups.
At least, if someone did, that person never got enough support to make any type of change. Their system of justice came directly from their religion. Therefore, the people had to deal with laws that were rather strict and favored certain members of society more than others. Had the people questioned this system, they could have made a code that was fair to all and not as harsh. Unfortunately, the people of Mesopotamia never challenged their way of thinking and had to deal with the harshness of the Code.
Things that should guide people towards repentance could potentially keep their focus looking inside themselves. Once a person can truthfully see how sinful their thoughts and lives are, it can and will hopefully lead them to depend on God. While Crabb is relying on God for answers, Rogerian theory states that “no other human being can possibly determine what the correct or incorrect behavior is for any other individual. Because of this, Kensit says that therapists must keep this in mind and use non-directive but yet supportive therapy. (Kensit, 2000).
Human wisdom is limited, because its bases off of prior knowledge and instinct, the wisdom of the world from philosophers, scholars, Greeks, Jews, and Gentiles is foolish to God. The only way to have true wisdom is by the Spirit which is the Holy Ghost through Jesus Christ. “No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely giving us. (1 Corinthians 2:11-12 NLT).
And so is the hurt we cause others unknowingly” (Walker 180). For many people an absence of belief is an overwhelming thing. This could relate to religion or a sense that someone does not believe in what they say or what they do. By not having faith in a person to listen and believe what they are saying you may unknowingly hurt them in ways that you will never know and will never fully understand. “She say, Celie, tell the truth, have you ever found God in church?
