A teacher with high expectations for his or herself will ultimately pass that quality on to their students. Caring comes naturally for great teachers. When a teacher genuinely cares for the students entrusted to them, they are able to reach them with greater ease. Great teachers make their classroom a place where caring is the norm. In a climate of care, students are more inclined to take up for each other, protect each other, and teach others how to care.
The child will respond well to this and they are likely to repeat the action to gain the praise from a staff member. Another policy at this setting is to model good behavior by treating children and adults around us with respect. This means that staff will be treating children with respect by talking to them nicely, not shouting at children, not humiliating children, etc. as well at treating staff members with the same level of respect, not shouting across the classroom, talking nicely to one another, etc. the result of this will be that other children will see this and will copy the staff members being respectful and, in turn, will respect their classmates, teachers and anyone outside of nursery.
Teachers should treat people as individuals and make sure a positive culture of equality and diversity is promoted. In order to promote this students should always feel included – being treated fairly and equally will promote a safe feeling and a good learning environment will be gained. Teachers should be identifying students’ needs in the initial assessment stage. 1.3
I will get to know each child, establish relationships with parents, and support their strengths as well as their needs. I will express my own emotions and respond to the children’s emotions, valuing their feelings and helping them express what they are feeling. But above all, I will make sure that every child feels secure in my room and are comfortable coming to me as their teacher. I provide a positive relationship with the child through daily routines and interactions. I feel this gives the children and parents a sense of trust.
They had to respect each other’s background, language and history. So they could maintain peacefulness in the class. Moreover, “even the curriculum has to convey respect” (47). Rose clearly expressed that respect was not only politeness, but also an intellectual dimension in schooling environment. Generally, safety and respect created a healthy environment for students to study.
The main key to establishing respectful and professional relationships with children and young people is to show respect at all times. A relationship built on a mutual understanding of respect can be a strong relationship that will make communication easier. You also need to show them that you are approachable so that they feel comfortable around you and if they have any questions or are struggling with the lessons work they can talk to you about it. A good practitioner will always listen to a child, without interruption, and let them express their own views this shows them that you are considerate to and that you value their feelings and opinions, which in turn will encourage them to interact with you. The way you talk to a child can also contribute to establishing a respectful and professional relationship as it is as important as listening.
This in turn should create a caring, happy atmosphere in the school which can enable effective teaching and learning. The school has its own code of conduct which all members of the school are to support. The school code of conduct is as follows; This is our school we will: • look after everything in and around it • follow instructions first time • always do our best work and let others do the same • treat everyone as we would like them to treat us • move sensibly round school and always walk inside. The school looks out for positive behaviour done by pupils and emphasis is placed on the acknowledgement of this. There is to be a clear understanding by staff, pupils are parents of what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.
And with good teachers come good students with good grades. And finally I said a principle, I say that because you want a responsible principal to make sure the teachers are educating the students the right way and handling all the school problems and to keep students safe. Those are the things I think make a good school
Education is the most important thing to all students. But to help them make the best out of it, every classroom has to provide good expectations and authority. While Rose discusses his theory of the consideration of authority in “Possible Lives”, Corla Hawkins builds a strong relationship with her students and gives them a healthy environment around the classroom. They’re both successful in their own ways. Mike Rose, an American professor, was doing research in many classrooms around the country.
Trained teachers will automatically know the types of measures to use incase a student exhibits a certain undesirable behavior. These measures will ensure that students behave in an appropriate manner and their performance is excellent. They will also make sure that the relationship and interaction between them and their students is healthy therefore building a favorable learning environment. They should be in a favorable condition to notice various problems that individual students go through, advice, keep close watch and offer valid solutions. For a school to be the best place to mould good behavior and emotions, it needs to have consistent rules and consequences in case an individual breaks them.
