For the Ideal Society People urge society to provide the ideal circumstances for themselves. The ideal society that people dream of is where males and females, regardless of their genders, receive both equal benefits and treatments and where the environment is pleasant to live. Contrary to their wish of the ideal society, the myth of the gender has made society full of biases while the myth of nature and the environment also has brought serious environmental consequences. The myth of gender constrains people’s actions due to the boundaries that are created for behaviors of each gender and it especially gives women terrible disadvantages such as receiving less opportunities and being objectified. Another myth, the myth of nature and the environment, leads people to believe that natural beauty and resources are inexhaustible. People, therefore, have continuously destroyed nature and the environment (Colombo, Cullen, and Lisle 641). As those two myths are unquestionably detrimental to society, the following adjustments to people’s behaviors regarding the myths and modifications to laws will help people achieve the ideal society: not having any preconceptions of each gender and its roles, banning any kinds of sexual and gender roles-related advertisements, banning slaughter of animals for leather and fur, and making a strict law for recycling to ensure that people recycle. People, both males and females, desire equal treatments, benefits, and opportunities. Although people say that they are not bias toward a certain gender, they often have preconceptions of each gender and those preconceptions lead them to create a prejudiced society. According to a short piece by Jamaica Kincaid, “Girl,” women should act feminine and the household chores are on the hands of women. The piece says “this is how you sweep a corner; this is how you sweep a whole house” to tell women that
