However, the amount of capital can be limited thus using appropriate budgeting concepts will help narrow down the risks. Arguably, some of the most popular methods of capital budgeting are Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Discounted Cask Flow (DCF) and payback period. Businesses tend to struggle to minimizing expenses to improve the bottom line because some of these expenses are needed to ensure that certain operational goals are met, i.e., overhead and advertising. Establishing a culture of employee engagement and allowing employees to articulate their ideas can help in reducing these costs. To encourage the employees to come up with innovative ideas, a quarterly price by way of a $25.00 gift card will be given to the employee with the best idea.

This usually involves a lot of money. In this project this option showed to be effective without making significant changes. Although cutting the staff members is a good option, hiring new people with lesser degrees is smarter. The choices I made here will all help the hospital increase their
One of my main takeaways from this topic is that money isn’t the best motivator. According to Mayo’s Hawthorne effect, employees feel more motivated when their efforts are recognized, and this can be achieved through bonuses for example. However, this can increase individualism as employees will focus on outperforming their peers. Intrinsic motivation helps create loyal employees who are more satisfied on a personal level. An example of this could be social security benefits.

Listening to my inner coach has made me restore faith in my abilities, is supportive, and leaves a feel-good effect. Session 7 saw us identify areas of our own lives that may be causing stress, which for me is finding a balance between work and university. The belief behind this stress is that I must do well at uni, and give it priority to everything else, but I must also earn some money to survive, so as not to feel as though my partner is ‘carrying’ me. When I thought about the underlying issues of the stress, I realised that it was mainly due to the fact that my time management was lacking, so the plan that I developed to reduce this stress in my life was to prioritise my time better. This plan included: * Telling work that I could only do 2 days a week, being Mondays and Fridays * Getting a calendar to work out when all university assessments were due, so that I always have it out in front of me * Making a timetable of when I’m at school, work and fit home study time into the
Although there is a negative perspective on fraternities I believe it has helped me improve several personal skills that will help me on my career path. I have learned to budget my time much more effectively. For example, instead of just budgeting school, work, and homework I have to budget in meetings, community service requirements, and other obligations that occur. Getting involved in internships, job opportunities, or other extracurricular activities can be very beneficial on getting on the right pathway towards success.
