Healing Hurts, Habits and Hang-ups I Peter 4:12-19 Good Morning Ladies, I want to thank you so much for inviting me to speak to you. The subject is very close to my heart, We’ve all been hurt by other people, we’ve hurt ourselves, and in some cases we’ve hurt other people. And, as a results every single one of us ends up with some sort of Hurts, Habits or Hang-ups. I have certainly have had my share. Being married to a none Christian for 32years. Loosing two daughters. Loosing a baby son at five days old. So when I say I understand the hurts, habits and hang-ups of life, I really do. Though I personally suffered the above mentioned hurts, I have always strive to have faith in God, trust in God and keep God first in my life. To always keep a prayer and song on my heart and on my lips. I ask God to help me live holy day by day. I truly know that each day of life is a gift from God. God the giver, we the receiver. If we do not put total trust in God our Hurts, Habits and Hang-ups will cause us to sin. God often allows believers to sin and experience the consequences, he does that for several reasons, (1) is to show us our potential for sinning. (2) to encourage us to turn from sin. Read Heb. 12:7. Some of us sisters, expect that the Lord will be the kind of parent(because we are his children) who will protects us from all sorrow and disappointment. But that ’s not the kind of Father he is. He lovingly allows His children to go through suffering. Isa. 43:2, I Thess. 3:3: (1) Let’s look at what I Peter 4:12-19 is saying: First, do not be surprised at the painful trials you are suffering. Then is states But, rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. And we do know that his glory will be revealed. Also, if you are insulted because of the name of Christ
