Topic summary Human trafficking is a major issue in many parts of the world in our modern-day society. It is a problem that has been going on for hundreds of years without being resolved and so it continues today in foreign countries where tourists venture out to and unknowingly go with strangers who pose as other tourists with the intent of kidnapping them. Human trafficking has been going on since the dawn of time, and is essentially another form of slavery. The dictionary term states that human trafficking is “the business of helping people to enter a country illegally and forcing them to work there for very little money because they have no rights”. The victims who are often young girls and women who live in third-world countries with very little advantages are lured to other countries with false promises of a better life and good working job in society in developed countries such as the United States of America or even Canada. The traffickers secure work permits and visas and such for the victims but upon arrival they confiscate these items so the victims are essentially stranded in the foreign country with no escape. Sub-topic: Causes of human trafficking. Thesis: Low education rates and no help from the government allow people to get tricked into being led away with human traffickers. Synopsis: Human trafficking does not have one definite cause; it has a series of factors that make it possible and into the gigantic problem that the world is faced with today. The victims of human trafficking are usually found in underdeveloped countries such as Indonesia and are lured away from their homes with false promises of a better life. People are not educated so they don't know that there is even a term called 'human trafficking' so they can't recognize the signs of a trafficker when they are approached by one.
